"Rev. VanAmburgh settled a few years after his military service at Bath, where he remained for most of life. He was converted in 1824 along with others under the labors of Rev. Z. Dean, and later was organized into a Freewill Bapt. church. He was ordained on Sept. 4, 1836, and continued a faithful laborer until strength and life failed."
