    MT. WASHINGTON — The funeral of Mrs. Sophia VanAmburgh was held Wednesday at 2:30 at the Bond Funeral Home In Hammondsport. The Rev. w. H. Willits of Elmira officiated. Burial was in Mt. Washington cemetery.
    Deceased was born in Lawrenceville, Pa., March 19, 1857, the daughter of Murray and Betsey (Beeman) Nash and came to this community to live about 67 years ago. She had resided here until three years ago she went to live with her son In Elmira.
    On September 4, 1878 she was united in marriage to Nathan H. VanAmburgh and to them two children were born, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Shattuck, died in 1920. She is survived by her husband; a son, J. Murray VanAmburgh, of Elmira; a sister, Cora Schofield of Bath; four granddaughters, Mrs. Delbert Beam of Hammondsport, Mrs. Richard Andrews and Mrs. Ruasell Allen of Binghamton and Miss Muriel VanAmburg of Elmira; five great-grandchildren.
