Bobby was born on April 24, 1932 in Commerce, Ok., the son of the late Robert Lee and Winnie Elizabeth (Small) Yearton. He has been a lifelong area resident. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He married Lillian June VanAmber on September 9, 1952. Together they raised three children. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for the city of Joplin. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lillian Yearton, four brothers and three sisters. Bobby is survived by one son, Steve Yearton and wife Jeanne, Joplin; two daughters, Diana Haines and husband David, Joplin, and Susan Randles and husband Mitch, Temple, Tx.; nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Tim Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Scott Yearton, Shawn Yearton, Chris Yearton, Jeff Haines, Mark Sease, and Kevin Randles. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. 344 | Cherokee Daily Times: March 18,1987: pg 2 Harry Van Amberg, 82, died Monday afternoon in Matney's Colonial Manor, South Sioux City, after a year and a half illness. He had been a resident of the Manor for four years and prior to this had lived with a niece, Geraldine Corll in Sioux City. He was originally from Quimby. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Quimby United Methodist Church. The Rev. Marvin D. Cleair will officiate with burial in the Silver Cemetery, rural Quimby. I.O.O.F. Lodge will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. today at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Mr. Van Amberg was born June 8, 1904, at Washta. He graduated from Quimby High School in 1926. He worked as custodian at Simonsen's for several years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church; a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army; a member of the American Legion Lyle W. Barnes Post 398, Quimby, and the I.O.O.F. She married Steven Farr on November 18, 1978. Christine was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bird-watching, and cross-stitch. She was a very active member of the Michigan Good Sam Club for many, many years. Christine is survived by her daughter, Renee (Tyson) Carter; son, Jared Farr (Becky Warner); mother Lois VanAmber; grandchildren, William and Anna Carter; and Mikaela Reaume; sisters, Mary Ann Zamora, Theresa (Jim) Milne; brother, Mike (Gwen) VanAmber, four nephews and two nieces; all of whom she loved dearly.
