The purchase prices was equivalent to $10,000. At some point, he moved to what became Ridgewood, there's no evidence he practiced medicine there, it's where he died in 1729." 568 | George Wayne Barlett Sr., age 76, Oronogo, Mo., passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at National Health Care, of Joplin, Mo. Wayne was born March 30, 1941, in Webb City, Mo., son of the late George Albert Barlett and Georgia Mae Gilliam Barlett. He grew up in the Webb City area, oldest of 16 children, he began working at the Ted Hooker Service Station, in Joplin, and also drove a wrecker for them. He worked at Fleming Foods, and then went to work for Consolidated Freightway as a dispatcher, and then Campbell 66, Advance United, and finally began his own business as Land Air Express, which he owned and operated until his retirement. Wayne was a member of the local Masons, and the Scottish Rite. He was a past president for the AYRA (All Youth Rodeo Association), where he enjoyed working with the youth. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne was a member of New Hope Assembly of God. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by brothers, Don, Ron "Butch", Mickey, Jim, and Ed; sisters, Mary Barlett, Debbie Barlett, and Janice Rowe. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris VanAmber Barlett; son, George Wayne Barlett Jr.; daughters, Tina Heydencych and husband, Ryan, of Pittsburg, Kan., Karla Barlett and David McKinney, of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Kyle Carr, Kearstin Brown, Tyler Hall, Cory Brown, Alyssa Heydenrych, and Elliot Bynum; great-grandchildren, Cohen Williams and Nova Brown; brothers, Gary Barlett, Tony Barlett, Steve Barlett, Rocky Barlett; sisters, Sherry Barlett, Beth Maynard, and Pat Thurlo; several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be Tuesday, August 15, at 4 p.m. in New Hope Assembly of God, 6th and Moffet, with Pastor Bob Winnett and Pastor Don Staggs officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Humane Society. 584 | Hope Jean Van Amburg Meadows passed away after a brief illness June 23, 2017. She was born in Fresno on March 21, 1927 to parents Ruby and Frank Van Amburg. Hope graduated from Roosevelt High Class of 1945 and attended Fresno State College. She married Garney Meadows on July 25,1947 in Fresno. They had two children, Garney Jr. and Carole. In her earlier years Hope was busy with her children with school and other activities. Once they were both married she started her 20 year career with the Internal Revenue Service where she retired to enjoy traveling and relaxing in her free time. She is a member of the Edison Social Club Auxiliary and the Mayflower Society. She loved to work on her High School Class Reunions and has stayed close to her classmates since her graduation. Anyone who knew her knew she was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49er fan and loved watching the games. Hope is preceded in death by her loving husband Garney and her parents Ruby and Frank Van Amburg. Hope is survived by her son, Garney Meadows Jr. and wife Kathy. Daughter Carole Meadows Wilson and husband Michael and her Granddaughters, Amber Wilson Smith and husband Tim, Jill Meadows Andersen and husband Arne and Megan Meadows Beard and husband Justin. She has seven Great Grandchildren, Makena, Bohden and Kaiah Smith, Paige and Peyton Beard and Samantha and Kaitlyn Andersen. Hope will be greatly missed, her beautiful smile and Ocean Blue eyes will light up Heaven. Your children all love you and you will remain always in our hearts. A Graveside Service will be held July 3, 2017 at Belmont Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests you donate to your favorite charity in Hope's name. | van Amber, Hope Jean (I181)
