- Hope Jean Van Amburg Meadows passed away after a brief illness June 23, 2017. She was born in Fresno on March 21, 1927 to parents Ruby and Frank Van Amburg. Hope graduated from Roosevelt High Class of 1945 and attended Fresno State College. She married Garney Meadows on July 25,1947 in Fresno. They had two children, Garney Jr. and Carole. In her earlier years Hope was busy with her children with school and other activities. Once they were both married she started her 20 year career with the Internal Revenue Service where she retired to enjoy traveling and relaxing in her free time.
She is a member of the Edison Social Club Auxiliary and the Mayflower Society. She loved to work on her High School Class Reunions and has stayed close to her classmates since her graduation. Anyone who knew her knew she was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49er fan and loved watching the games.
Hope is preceded in death by her loving husband Garney and her parents Ruby and Frank Van Amburg.
Hope is survived by her son, Garney Meadows Jr. and wife Kathy. Daughter Carole Meadows Wilson and husband Michael and her Granddaughters, Amber Wilson Smith and husband Tim, Jill Meadows Andersen and husband Arne and Megan Meadows Beard and husband Justin. She has seven Great Grandchildren, Makena, Bohden and Kaiah Smith, Paige and Peyton Beard and Samantha and Kaitlyn Andersen.
Hope will be greatly missed, her beautiful smile and Ocean Blue eyes will light up Heaven. Your children all love you and you will remain always in our hearts.
A Graveside Service will be held July 3, 2017 at Belmont Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests you donate to your favorite charity in Hope's name.
