- Cheryl Hannel Obituary
Cheryl Lynne Garner Hannel, 46, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born April 29, 1966, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Robert L. and Carol L. Clayton Garner. She married David B. Hannel, and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Matthew A. (wife, Lauren) Hannel of Indianapolis, and Brandon A. Hannel, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in San Antonio; one granddaughter, Lydia Grace Hannel; two sisters, Cynthia (husband, Everett) Beddingfield and Patricia (husband, John Jr.) Mullens, both of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Story Garner; and one sister, Victoria Sue Garner.
Cheryl was a 1984 graduate of Jacksonville High School and served as office manager for Hannel Oil Company in Jacksonville for nearly 25 years. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Women of the Moose, and a former member of the South Jacksonville Plan Commission. She enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Jacksonville and following her sons' activities.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Williamson Funeral Home. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran School or Jacksonville Food Bank. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
