Mrs. Florence Van Amber, who wears a star In the Chicago police department met Jean Duraunter in one of the railway depots some weeks ago. The girl was homeless and Mrs. Van Amber took her to her own apartments. Jean soon disappeared and along with her went a sealskin coat valued at $500, a new tailored suit, silk underwear, silk hose, a quantity of lingerie and $8O in cash. The girl was captured In Milwaukee, brought here and sentenced to one year in the house of correction.
