ALPHA L. VAN AMBURGH

Alpha L. Van Amburgh, 62, of 626 Hamilton st., died Friday in Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born in McConnellsville, May 21, 1885, the son of Herman and Sophia Van Amburgh. In 1918, he married Miss Sarah Ivory in a ceremony in Sayre, Pa. After their marriage they resided in Cortland and in 1920 moved to Syracuse. He was employed as a foreman for the Central New York Power Corp. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Wilbert Hufford of Chandler, Ariz., Mrs. Lester Horning of Royersford, Pa.; and Mrs. Virgil Knicely of Syracuse; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Zimmerman of Daytona Beach, Fla.; five grandsons and one niece. Funeral services from the home Monday at 2 P.M., the Rev. Archie B. Bedford officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
