Letter dated Aug 22nd, 1864
Harewood Hospital Aug.22, 1864
Dearest wife
I now sit down to rite few lines to let you know that I am well and hope this will find you the same.
Have not had a letter from you this week and it has been a long week you may bet. It has rained here for the last three days. It has stopped now. My back has been lame some but not very bad. My side is some lame yet so I stay here in the hospital yet and intend to yet for a while and when I go out of here it will be to the invalid corps. I did not tell you what to ask for the overcoat. You may take eight dollars for it. Nothing less than that. I will send you some verses with this.. I don't think of anything to write this time. Please write soon and let me know how things go there. I think you had better buy some flannel off mother for Lina.
No more this time yours ever true
